John Katen

John attended Forster High and finished school in 1979. He then studied Law at Macquarie University and graduated as BaLLB. John spent time in the late 1980s working as a solicitor in Forster before he moved back to Sydney to work for one of the “big 4” banks in their legal department. After marrying Sue, he returned to Forster to start his own practice in 1994.

His early days saw him appearing at Forster Local Court and providing locals with affordable and efficient advice. As the years have passed, John continues to provide cost-effective real estate and conveyancing advice to his clients. In many cases, he has helped client’s transition into retirement living.

John is generous with his time and provides clients with the resources and information they need to make informed decisions on what is usually the biggest financial transaction of their lives. John has built up the business’s wills and estate practice, again providing cost-effective, practical advice in a timely manner. As our population ages, John has been able to provide clients with advice on wills, powers of attorney and the need to appoint an enduring guardian.
